【News】IRS sets January 23 as official start to 2023 tax filing season

The Internal Revenue Service today announced Monday, January 23, 2023, as the beginning of the nation’s 2023 tax season when the agency will begin accepting and processing 2022 tax year returns.

　さて、Federal Reserve Bank (FRB)より１月9日に発表がありました外国為替レート（Foreign Exchange Rates）をご案内させて頂きます。

連邦税、州税申告書類で使用する換算レートは、1米国㌦=131.46円となります。

The Internal Revenue Service won’t meet its goal of catching up on its backlog of millions of unprocessed tax returns by the end of this year, and the pile is expected to mount next year, according to a new report.

Starting this week, the Internal Revenue Service is sending letters to more than 9 million individuals and families who appear to qualify for a variety of key tax benefits but did not claim them by filing a 2021 federal income tax return.

The Middle Class Tax Refund (MCTR) is a one-time payment to provide relief to Californians.If you are eligible, you will automatically receive a payment. Payments are expected to be issued between October 2022 and January 2023.

 

【News】IRS relieves penalties for 2019 and 2020

The IRS has just issued  Notice 2022-36 which provides automatic relief for individual tax returns for 2019 and 2020. If a taxpayer qualifies for relief, the IRS will fully abate the penalties listed. And, if the taxpayer has already paid the penalties, the IRS will issue a refund.
